The Granville T. Woods Community Shule Board of Directors and Administration would like to thank the staff, students, parents and community supporters who were a part of our school through the years. After 8 wonderful years of serving children in Central Ohio, the Shule closed and ceased all operations on July 1, 2010.

Though we regret that our school has closed, we are proud of the Shule’s legacy. We are confident that the administrative, fiscal and academic responsibility of the school’s Board of Trustees, administration and staff will continue to be affirmed as the closure process is completed.

We are proud of the fact that we created a positive and nurturing learning environment for our students and staff for 8 years (since 2002) while staying true to the mission and core values of our school’s founders – an Africentric pedagogy, small class sizes, a strong academic program, and positive discipline.

We still believe that Granville T. Woods Community Shule is “not just different, but better!”
